Fever now~

I am on the class now, haha... i got fever this 3 days..... i had the medical, but seems no use.
I want to take more rest, but...... my manager don't allow me to take leave.
Poor me><

Think of the small database we used in our lab exercise - Products and Suppliers. Briefly describe how this database observes any two of the four design principles outlined above.

Answer:
I think the lab exercise, have including 1) * Divides your information into subject-based tables to reduce redundant data. Enitity is a supplier name, product name, QTY, or event on which information can be obtained.The Form used for data input & display.

2)* Provides the database management system (e.g. ACCESS) with the information it requires to join the information in the tables together as needed.
What u type will show to everyone.
It's easy for us to input & chech the details what we are typing in.
The table : used for data storage. (Like: company name, product name, QTY ......) It can show the details clearly.

But...... due to my poor english, i've feeling hard to write it well for your assignment....><

Hence, did we need to done the web site which u teach us on the lab before?

Assignment 1 Q1

Think of a business or organization that you admire, then describe two examples of how that business is supported by information systems. For example, do they use it for operational excellence ? Or do they use it to create new products and services ?

I think the Otopus card services is a information systems & use it for easy paying services is a new services. Bucause Otopus card is a smart card, it can convenience customer to use it fast, easy & well services for using transport.
Hence, it create a fast services for passenger for use it to buy little things in the shop (eg: 7-11, OK, KFC, Maxim,etc.) at this fast food/services shop, if customer use the Otopus card to pay, it will save the time for each of the customer, as i am one of them.
I don't like when i am hurry to pay, but the front customer still taking money & waiting the staff to exchage back to her/him >< U know, when u going to office, & stay at one of the shop (i always buy drinks or foods at 7-11), the customer use the money to buy, waste me time..... @@

The other one is bank's ATM mechines. i like to use it. As you can easy to find out it everywhere.
(Although i am easy to get lost .......) It can easy to let peoples taking money & transfer some payment transaction. It is a information systems too. But i don't know is this ATM services create a new services for customer recently?

Assignment Q2

ERP:
Answer the following questions after viewing the video:
Which departments within the company are integrated within the Order-to-Delivery process ?
Which steps are included in the Order-to-Delivery process ?
What factors would you consider when deciding whether ERP is suitable or not for a small business ?

When customer place the order, Sales manager can see the order immediaterly.
And then copy the order to Warehouse manager for following.
Then, the warehouse manager will update the details for following asap.
After done, the system will show "Closed" file for all of colleague know that they are finish the order & delivery on time to customer. Of couse, all the staff still can following even the order shown "Closed" for after sold services. For example: sales can following about the goods qulity, warehouse can following about the shipping status, ect.
It is because when using this ERP system, it main for save more time & cost. The ERP system is for the company which want to save more time to communicate with each department for save more cost.
When i choocing use ERP or not for the small company, i will considering about the profit & depens on the effection for running this programme. If well profit & big effect after use it. I will use it on the small company.

1) List the customer data elements generated when a customer interacts with an airline by (a) making a reservation, (b) using frequent flyer miles, and (c) completing a flight. How does information from CRM improve these interactions ?

Answer: Collect those informations, like customer name, contact details, seating preferences, flight itinerary, feedback, etc. Can build up long -term emphasis with customer. Let customer know that they care about all customer's need. 2-way communication and collaboration. continuing transactions and so on.

2) What are the benefits of integrating the sales, marketing and customer support function using a single software pacakge and a centralized database ?

Answer:
When using in package software, that can save more time & resources.
Also can let colleague whatever come from different team read the order/ details at once.
Help sales staff increase their productivity.
Assign and manage customer service requests.
Manage marketing campaigns and analyze the results.
CRM identifies opportunities for cross-selling, up-selling and product bundling.
